We are excited to offer some of the best trails in the Hudson Valley leading up to the highest peak of the Town of Poughkeepsie! Except the Blue trail, every trail leads directly from the parking lot to the summit.
Remember, every trail, except the Blue Trail, leads directly from the parking lot to the summit. Happy trails!
The Blue Pond Overlook Trail (blue markers) is an easy 0.4 mile trip from the parking area. It goes through meadows, the orchard overlooks and passes the picnic area, providing an easy trail to “discover” the park.
The Orchard Trail (white markers) meanders through the old apple orchard. It is 1.2 miles long and has a moderate climb, with several nice overlooks.
The Heritage Trail (red markers) provides a gradual climb to the summit and is 1.4 miles long. On this trail, many aspects of local history invite discovery.
The Geology Trail (orange markers) is 0.9 miles long, including a steep climb. You will also marvel at the local geology from several unforgettable overlooks.
The Five Habitat Trail (green markers) takes visitors through five different habitats. Along the way, learn the identity of common trees and shrubs. It is 0.8 miles long with a moderate climb.
Connector trails (unmarked) can be found interwoven between the five main trails. Choose your adventure!
